Career Development Center at the University of Zakho Successfully Concludes “Part-time Internship” Program
The Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Zakho has successfully concluded its “Part-time Internship” program, designed to enhance students’ professional competencies and bridge academic learning with practical experience.
The program was conducted under the supervision of the Director of the Career Development Center, Mr. Lawend I. Mohammed, and coordinated by Mr. Hemen Shams al-Din Ali. It targeted a number of students from the University of Zakho and was organized during the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the CDC’s strategic approach, the initiative aimed to familiarize students with professional environments and develop their practical skills. Participants completed 150 hours of voluntary work in private-sector companies across Zakho, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. Several students also gained employment opportunities or financial rewards based on their performance.
A special ceremony was held to honor the participants, during which the Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr. Ramadan J. Mstafa, awarded certificates and highlighted the importance of such programs in preparing students for the labor market.
The successful completion of the “Part-time Internship” program underscores the University of Zakho’s commitment to fostering employability and equipping its students with the practical skills necessary for career readiness.
